How do our beliefs affect what we do?
When we take an honest look at our beliefs, we begin to see how we are limiting ourselves from embracing our greatness that we are called to be.
Have you said statements like these to yourself?
I’m too old to start something new
I’m too young to do anything like that
I am not smart enough
I can’t handle failing
Money is the root of all evil
I can’t learn anything new
I don’t deserve good things
I am not as good as someone else.
If you have ever said any of these statements about yourself, then you have fallen prey to self-destruction. It might have been on little things and maybe on big things. However, the reality is this - God created us for great things. Jesus tells us, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father.” (John 14:12)
How do we overcome limiting beliefs?
It is the simplest answer but one of the hardest things we do.
We change the way we speak of ourselves and others.
We do things despite the fear.
Before I became a mom, I didn’t think I could do it but yet I am doing it.
When I started working at the church as a youth coordinator, I didn’t think I could do it but I am.
When I wanted to run a ½ marathon, I didn’t think I could, but then I did it – multiple times.
When I wanted to open my own business as a psychotherapist, I didn’t think I could, but I did.
To change those limiting beliefs, we change the way we think so that our beliefs begin to be transformed. I promise there will be a shift in your life where you begin to see positive changes at home, work, friendships, and life. Instead of the lies, we allow to feed our beliefs and thoughts with the truth:
Repeat after me…
I can start something new at any age
I am smart enough
I am skilled enough
I can handle failure (failing means you are moving forward)
Money is NOT the root of all evil
I have already tried everything
I can learn new things
I deserve goodness
I am my own unique person (made PERFECTLY by God)
Much Love and Blessings,
Angelle
